Practical life & sensorial
Pouring, scrubbing, food preparation, sorting, fine motor practice — real materials, real tasks, real independence.
Seven weeks of child-led play and exploration, water and outdoor time, lunch together, and the small social circle that makes Starbirds feel like home. A flexible weekly schedule lets families pick the weeks that fit.

What the children do
Pouring, scrubbing, food preparation, sorting, fine motor practice — real materials, real tasks, real independence.
Water tables, water transfer, summer-appropriate sensory exploration. Cooling, satisfying, endlessly absorbing.
Movement, fresh air, neighborhood walks, nature observation.
A community lunch that builds belonging and conversation.
Early literacy, vocabulary, the joy of being read to.
Hands-on deep-dives that follow children's curiosity — animals, vehicles & transportation, insects, buildings & signs, ocean life, and community helpers.
A gentle rhythm
A gentle, predictable rhythm of focused activity, outdoor time, and shared meals.
Drop-off at the 2nd floor entrance. Children settle in and choose an activity.
Welcome song, greetings, and a movement warm-up to start the day together.
Activities anchored in our current theme — hands-on, social, curious.
Fresh air, big movement, neighborhood walks, and nature observation.
A shared meal — children bring their own lunch from home.
A calm close: a story together, and pickup at 1:00.
Group size
A small social circle where everyone knows everyone — guides know each child, children know each other.
